Lemuria The Lost Continent
Lemuria The Lost Continent
Everything that exists in the world now does not mean
starting from the beginning like this. In legend, for example, we hear a
country called Atlantis which is now no longer in the world, and even if
atlantis was located somewhere. We also hear of mythological animals like
dragons, but where are dragons actually? Until now there has never been a bone
or dragon fossil in the world. Never.
So also a continent that was once said to have existed on
this earth, Lemuria. This continent was then lost to the disaster, some said
because of the earthquake and some said it was affected by the tsunami. I don't
know what is right. But the realization of the lost continental Lemuria is not
a fairy tale only told from generation to generation. This lost continent was
seriously studied by historians because there were indications of the existence
of this Continent in the past.
The position of the lost continent lies in the Indian Ocean.
Stretching to form triangles from India, Madagascar and towards the Australian
continent. Speculation about the existence of Continent Lemuria has actually
begun since the 19th century. Seeing the similarities of ethnicity, culture and
language found in Madagascar, India, Australia and the archipelago is what
makes historians begin to suspect the existence of a land connection that
bridges the population of the three regions scattered .
Even a Zoologist named Philip Sclater stated that the
existence of fauna in Madagascar could not exist if there was no land connected
to Madagascar to Asia, Australia or Africa, according to him the Connection
Bridge could have been Lemuria.
In ancient literature the culture of Tamil (India) also
mentioned the existence of a lost Continent named Kumari Kandam. The lost
continent of the Tamil version was later linked with Lemuria by people who
believed in the existence of the lost continent.
Unfortunately the theory of Lemuria's existence is rather
confused with the development of technology in the present. Because there is no
visible structure of the area referred to under the Indian Ocean when viewed
from satellite imagery. It is different with the existence of the Zealandia
continent which is more likely if it refers to the underwater geological
structure.
